ABOUT US

Encuentro de Entidades No Gubernamentales para el Desarrollo —known as Red Encuentro— is a second-level civil organization with more than four decades of experience promoting social, political, and community development in Argentina.

Founded in 1977, during the military dictatorship, and legally established on May 19, 1984, with the return of democracy, Red Encuentro was created with the purpose of contributing to the construction of a new social and political power on democratic foundations, promoting the effective participation of popular and disadvantaged sectors in local, national, and regional decision-making spaces.

As a federal, multi-thematic, and plural network, we bring together development and promotion institutions from across the country, articulating experiences, knowledge, and strategies around shared axes that strengthen democracy, equity, and social justice.

Throughout our history, we have consolidated ourselves as the country’s oldest network of development organizations, supporting collective and territorial processes in diverse areas.

Currently, the areas of work we carry out in collaboration with member organizations are: youth, food cooperation, habitat, gender, public policy advocacy, and civil and political rights.
